Buenos Aires and Santiago join a list of cities across Brazil - São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Salvador, Porto Alegre and Vila Velha - which have all seen PBSC solutions deployed in the last 12 months alone.
The latest deployment in South America will consist of 4,000 Iconic model bikes distributed throughout 400 solar powered stations with lit smart map frames within Buenos Aires, as well as 3,850 FIT bikes and over 350 solar powered stations in Santiago, all of which are expected to be fully installed beginning of 2019.
With the 8,000 bikes already on the streets of Brazil, this brings to over 16,000 the total of PBSC bikes available across South America.
This latest foray is the result of the continued collaborative efforts between PBSC and operator Tembici., a Brazilian company specialising in the operation of bike sharing systems and the largest company in the industry in South America. The partnership has also been instrumental in the successful rollout of bike share networks throughout six cities across Brazil.
